I'm getting gradually more excited about the Wii version of Punch-Out!!. Recently, it had occurred to me that Von Kaiser has become a cross between Dwight Schrute and Conan O'Brien's old-timey 1900s character he does sometimes. Times like this make me wish that I hadn't lent out my copy of Fight Night Round 2.

BTI Hawaiian Style (Part 1)
If you haven't figured out by now, I went to a St. Patrick's Day parade. It was full of old cars, Asian bagpipe players, marching bands...
...and this awesome guy. Things were being thrown/given to the crowd, which is what often happens at parades; one of the more interesting items is a Pog from a local school.
I don't know if the proper caption here is "Hawaii: The only place where Pogs are still relevant," or "Remember St. Patrick School? It's back, in Pog form!" Later, I went to the International Market Place, which is pretty much a hundred booths selling the same jewelery and cheap t-shirts that either have Hawaii or Barack Obama on them. I didn't buy much there, but there was something else pretty cool there.
There's a gigantic half-dead tree in the marketplace that everybody writes on. I knew what I had to do.
Do you see it yet?

Mario Got Stuck
I've had this rough sketch of Mario stuck in a pipe on my desktop for a couple months now, and now it's a slightly better rough sketch, with color.

New ImPokédex - Misdreavus
Misdreavus is one of my favorite G/S Pokémon. Not only does it look badass, but it has a ridiculous premise; given that the only way to make it worthwhile in battle is to give it perish song and a bunch of moves to support it, it is in essence a suicidal ghost. You may have noticed that the ImPokédex updates have been sparse lately, but that's just because I'm really dreading the upcoming Unown entry.

Another Comic - Dress For Success
In Pokémon Platinum, they change the costumes of the main characters, because for some reason relevant to the plot, it's really cold. The outfit on the left is what Dawn actually wears to prepare for a brisk Sinnoh winter in-game.

Save Room For Dessert

Seems that the Wii finally has a decent storage solution - if only I had an SD card that was larger than 256 MB...

Welcome To Internet City!
I was going to get that Pearl Jam DLC for Rock Band this week, but then I started thinking that for nearly the same price, I could get Burnout Paradise, about which I have heard nothing but good. On the other hand, I've also got RE5 and Psychonauts to go through, so I don't really need a whole other game to distract me now. Regardless of how the $20 is spent, at least I get a new banner out of the deal.

Skeleton and Bear
Yes, it's another old drawing, but do remember that I'm not even here. It's a still-life I did for a drawing class a couple years ago; the subject was a teddy bear sitting on a skeleton's lap, and the media was India ink.

Samus Vs. Ridley
Another older drawing of mine; I think I was doing this one while waiting for Metroid Prime 3 to come out. It features two of my favorite onomatopoeias.

New ImPokédex - Murkrow
Honchkrow is one of my favorite D/P new evolutions. It's apparently supposed to resemble a mafia don, but I always thought it looked more like a Confederate general, ah say ah say.

MACHOKE used KINNIKU BUSTER!
This is a drawing I did a few years back for a fake Pokémon card. Obviously, it was a Machoke card, not a Mr. Mime card. You can see the full card after the jump, but it's one of those ADV cards, which I was never too good at making.more...

New ImPokédex - Wooper
I think Wooper looks like a ditto trying to poorly replicate a Mudkip, but Mudkip wasn't introduced until later, so I'm clearly wrong.

Hawaii BRB
If you are reading this, I am already at the airport en route to Hawaii. This will be the first time since 2005 that I will have left the state, so I'm rather excited about the trip. It will also be a vacation from BTI, since I won't have my computer with me; however, I have scheduled some updates to post automatically, so you don't pester me about how I never update the site. I'll still be regularly updating my Twitter page, so be sure to follow that if you're not already.See you next week!

One Minute Raul Julia
I have only recently seen the hilarious 1994 Street Fighter movie, and am still basking in its awesomeness. Upon posting this, there now are more Capcom drawings on the front page than ImPokédex entries.Vaya con Dios.

Another Comic - Co-op Inaction
Much like how the Space Pirates' laboratories are full of tubes that are the same diameter as Samus' morph ball, many of the puzzles in Resident Evil 5 seem to be designed in a way that you only need two people to proceed; the above plan could've saved Wesker tons of money on giant bat/lobster creature development.

Chris Redfield Smash!
I "finally" beat Resident Evil 5 last night, and I realized how hypocritical Chris is for trying to stop an organization who injects stuff into people to give them superhuman powers.

YA YA YA YA YA
Doing a Crazy Taxi drawing today, since I downloaded All I Want for Rock Band 2. I was a bit upset that it had the same tricky chord changes that most of the other Offspring songs do in the game, but it was still pretty awesome to play. Likewise, I can't wait until the Pearl Jam album comes out later this month (Ten in 2009! Ten in 2009!).

More Bee Robot Animation
I found a guide online that showed how to make a short walking animation, and once again, being the first biped I could think of, I made that bee robot run. It's a bit jerky in places but I did the antennae myself and they move pretty nicely.

New ImPokédex - Aipom
So, Aipom apparently evolves into that monstrosity when it levels up while knowing the doubleslap attack. Now, when its evolved form uses doubleslap, does it slap twice with each tail-hand, or just once with each? Maybe it just slaps twice with one tail-hand while the other rests. Just another reason why D/P Pokémon are... *Tom Brokaw voice* the lamest generation.

Bee Robot Animation
I wanted to try some animating something today, and then I realized that most of my characters are cat-shaped blobs that don't lend themselves well to motion. That's why I drew this animation of my bee-powered robot spitting bees out of its mouth. I don't know why, maybe it has too many bees.
*EDIT* Imageshack put the direct link right on top of the list of links. I wonder if it's some trap or if they just gave up.
Aggressive Inline Was Way Awesome
As late as a few years ago, Tony Hawk pretty much monopolized the extreme sports genre of video games. Shortly after Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, Acclaim, who had feebly tried to compete with their own Dave Mirra BMX series, released Aggressive Inline. AI, as I will be referring to it, was buggy and awkward at times, but it was doing a whole bunch of things that the THPS series wouldn't do for a while. For one, AI had a self-correcting a button, so you could safely land from any jump. More significantly, AI's career mode had no time limits. THPS didn't add either of these features until the 4th iteration, and even then, most of the challenges required you to talk to somebody who would tell you what you had to do, and guess what - you have two minutes to do it! The only time Hawk got anywhere close to the freedom AI had was with Tony Hawk's Underground 2 (aka Bam Margera's Pro Skater); that is one of the few reasons that I don't think THUG2 deserves all the hate it gets.
AI also had a rather unique way of increasing stats; simply by skating around, you would gain experience points for each stat. Do enough air tricks, and you'll level up, letting you spend more time in the air. That's right - you can actually grind while you grind (Xzibit would be proud). Don't worry, despite this system, there are still plenty of out-of-the-way icons to grab.
Aggressive Inline is a rather awesome game, and you can find it on any of last generation's consoles for no more than $3 used. If you liked it, though, don't be tricked into getting its successor, BMX XXX; it's nowhere as good and its title sticks on your Gamercard forever for others to see... and judge.
