New ImPokédex - Tauros
I grouped these two originally because I thought they came from the same egg, because they're both normal-type cows. Having been called out on how that is wrong several times now, I figured I should correct that, but I'm still keeping them in the same entry.

New ImPokédex - Pinsir
I get the feeling that Pinsir is not very well-liked. Everyone playing Blue version (such as myself) gets denied of Scyther in lieu of that thing; not that Pinsir is lame, mind you, but Scyther is so much cooler. Then in Gold/Silver, Heracross becomes a much more practical high-attack bug, because, you know, it actually HAS bug-type attacks. Pinsir's the kind of Pokémon that, when it throws a party and sends out invitations to all the Pokémon it knows, only gets an RSVP from Dunsparce.Though, in the anime, one of them almost murdered Ash's Metapod, and that's pretty badass.

New ImPokédex - Magmar
Magmar may have a butt for a forehead, but its card in the Fossil expansion was awesome. About 5 or 6 years ago, I drew an evolved form of Magmar, which was pretty much the same except it had 4 arms... I called it Marchamp and it was a triumph.

Threadless Idea
Last night while joking about some awful Threadless shirt ideas, and within 2 minutes I came up with this winner right here. It's got a horrible pun AND it's pastel; I might as well cash the check right now.I'm sure it's been done already, though... I just don't feel like browsing through hundreds of trees and talking cupcakes.

Buckethead Is Parched
Chinese Democracy is finally out, and Dr. Pepper has made good on their offer. You've got 3 hours at the time of this post to overcome the sheer flood of requests, something which I haven't been able to do yet. Surely Buckethead's lightning-fast fingers can enter the data quickly enough to get through the servers.

Run Faith Run
Guess what movie I was watching yesterday... Come on, EA, if you can put Back To The Future's DeLorean in Burnout Paradise, and Obama/Palin in Mercs 2 via DLC, you can make a Lola skin for Mirror's Edge.

I always thought Jynx should've been a ghost type, but with all the other things wrong with it, how does type matter?

This Week's Comic - The Biggest Crossover Yet

New ImPokédex - Scyther
Scyther never really needed to evolve. It's a ninja - it needs to be able to move quickly and cut off the heads of its enemies with swift tenacity. Why the hell would you put a bunch of heavy steel armor on a ninja and replace his razor-sharp swords with large blunt objects? I guess they just wanted more steel types in G/S.

Mouse Trouble
Fellow Zeophyte Mars has recently been having mouse problems, and worries about the mice finding peanut butter cups, since they're like cocaine for mice. Having eaten many of them myself recently (peanut butter cups, not mice), I know the feeling. They gave me the energy I needed to make this drawing. I like how fun-size candy is half off after Halloween when they have no markings on the wrappers whatsoever that they are from Halloween, but I guess I'm just filling all this empty space with text now...

New ImPokédex - Mr. Mime
And so we've entered the long stretch of humanforms and their ill-conceived babies and evolutions. I doubt I'm alone in saying that in the TCG, the Jungle expansion's Mr. Mime was an awesome card, at least until Muk came out in the next set. I still have no idea what a mime was doing in the jungle, though.

Tiny Minions
One of the best parts of old video games is all the round critters that filled their respective worlds. I may do one of these drawings later to chronicle all of the bats in video games.

Turd Ferguson 007
I keep seeing commercials for Quantum of Solace, and I ask myself "who's this blond guy pretending to be James Bond?" Did you know that at one time, Burt Reynolds was considered for the part? Adam West too! It's probably for the best that they didn't make it - because of Sean Connery's time as Bond, they made the character part Scottish. He shouldn't be part Batman too.

New ImPokédex - Horsea
I wish I had done this before G/S came out, because Seadra really should have the angryeyes instead of Kingdra, but alas, rules are rules. Kingdra, like Alakazam, is one of the few evolutions for which it doesn't necessarily look bigger or stronger or faster than its predecessor, but just more elderly.

One Minute Andre The Giant
I'm watching some documentary on A&E about Andre The Giant, hence today's drawing. I was still watching it while drawing this, and didn't realize I gave him a butt-nose, but it would be cheating to do it over again.

Tangled Up In Blue
I was going to make the Bob Dylan reference in my last update, but I forgot. Fortunately, it's just as relevant here. Reaching the end of the most unnecessarily long election, I realized there was a reason Obama won; he had momentum on his side. It wasn't political momentum, but rather the kind associated with his party's color. Confused? Just look at this map of the election results (courtesy of fivethirtyeight.com).
All of his states are blue, and all of McCain's states are red. This year, we've seen all sorts of blue things succeeding, and red things left to wither and die. Continue after the jump to see what I mean.
Early in the year, in the 2008 Pro Bowl, the NFC beat the AFC. I couldn't find a good picture of the two jerseys, but trust me, the NFC one is blue, and the AFC one is red.

In the HD format war earlier in the year, Blu-Ray prevailed while HD-DVD went the way of the Betamax. Note the cases' colors - the former has "blue" in its name, even!
Best Buy may be the most ironically named store ever, but they seem to be succeeding over Circuit City, who is closing many stores in the near future.
Both seem to be thriving in stores, but Rock Band is just so much more awesome that I had to include it.

New ImPokédex - Tangela
I wanted to do something presidential for today's update, but I suppose this is close enough; there's red, white and blue to be found in the image. Also Tangela looks like one of those fry kids, and what's more American than old McDonald's mascots?

Sequel Numbering
There's something I always wondered about regarding sequels - how much time for consideration do they put into deciding how to number sequels? Are there producers and writers spending hours arguing over whether they should use Roman or Arabic numerals? For the Saw series, they used Roman numerals by design, because then they could increment with severed body parts, but for many other cases it's bound to be more arbitrary. I wonder if they make that decision when they start a possible series, or when they make the second one.
That's the job I want in the film industry... Determiner of Sequel Numbering.
