Halloween Post

A month or two ago I got the DVD of Rob Zombie's Halloween remake, and have been waiting for it to be reasonably close to Halloween to watch it. I guess I better watch it some time in the next 9 hours lest I have to wait another year.

I was watching the second half of an episode of Just Shoot Me today, and realized that it's a lot funnier that way, since you have no idea why any or all of the characters are acting strangely.

New ImPokédex - Rhyhorn

It's hard to believe, but this is already the 50th entry into the Impostor Minineko Impokédex. Is it just me, or does Rhydon not need an evolved form? Sure it's not the most practical Pokémon, but it's pretty much a Nidoking plated with rocks, which should be sufficiently powerful. Also, Rhyperior is a spray-painted skull away from being a Gears of War character.

Singe The Internet

As part of our "make the blog look less like one of those templates" initiative, Burn The Internet has undergone a few visual changes. It is now delightfully light grey, and the top banner contains 200% more Mario Bros.! There is also a toasty fire lining the bottom of the page, as the temperature seems to finally be dropping. Enjoy the changes.

Dino-Joker

For some reason, I had to draw a dinosaur yesterday, and upon looking up some pictures, I noticed something familiar about how their mouths are shaped. Shortly after, Dino-Joker was born.

One Minute Billy

I did another one minute drawing today of Billy, Jigsaw's puppet from the Saw movies. I went to see Saw 5 last night, and let me just say, if you liked Saw 4, you'll like the fifth installation too. This is because they're both jumbled messes of rusty shackles and senseless police investigation made to stretch out a previously awesome series after its main character kicks the bucket, with the same lackluster twist at the end, justified only by some marginally interesting flashbacks. It's like a train wreck from which you can't look away, but for all the wrong reasons.

New ImPokédex - Koffing

As I may have mentioned several times before, this is one of them I've dreaded making. Impostor Minineko's probably dreading it too; Weezing always sounds like it wishes it was dead.

Everyone Knows It's Butters

Butters is my favorite South Park character. I don't know; I seem to like all the pathetic characters in cartoons (Butters, Principal Skinner, everyone in King Of The Hill). This is a good time of year, because there's both a new South Park and Zero Punctuation every Wednesday for a couple months.

New ImPokédex - Hitmonthings

Hitmonchan was one of the first Impostor Pokémon I made, just as a joke, before I somehow decided to make the entire bestiary. Might I add that for some reason, despite not having multiple heads or no paws, Impostor Tyrogue is one of the freakiest looking ones I've made so far.

New Hat Get

Today's drawing is of my Rock Band 2 character, Rocken Kyatt. He's pretty much a Clockwork Orange droog, except since there's no bowler in the game, I have an array of other black hats. Yesterday, I unlocked the ultimate metal outfit, which is made entirely of dead animals and spikes; more importantly, gave me a new hat. I think I'll be switching it soon.

Ew, a litter of freaky egg kittens. At least I only have one multi-headed Pokémon left in the original 151.

Alternate BTI Mascot

Should Impostor Minineko be unable to fulfill his duties as mascot of Burn The Internet, he will be replaced by Crying Al Gore. I hope it doesn't have to come to that; I don't want to make an Al Gorédex.

Maybe New Little Mac Doesn't Suck That Bad

I don't think I was the only one confused to see Little Mac show up in that Wii Punch-Out!! trailer with blue hair, but it may have been necessary. I was playing Super Punch-Out!! today, where you play as that blond guy, when it occurred to me; the reason they may have abandoned the NES Little Mac in that game is because all the opponents have to be seen through a transparent version of him, which would be tougher if he was wearing a black shirt and had black hair. Because of the retro appeal they're going for in Wii Punch-out!!, they wanted to keep the Little Mac most people know from the NES version, but needed to lighten his hair somehow. I like to think that his hair isn't blue, it's a lighter black through which you can see foreign pugilists. As for the tan, that's probably just something he got while on that island in Captain Rainbow.

New ImPokédex - Voltorb

Woo! I'm now two thirds of the way through the Kanto Pokédex, meaning I should be done with it by the end of the year. Voltorb and Electrode are always depicted as suicidal jerks in the anime, though in its defense, it's probably right.

Catwoman Almost Eats A Colorful Bird

I'm currently watching Batman Returns, my favorite of the last set of Batman movies, and Catwoman almost eats a colorful bird. That's pretty much it, there's not much else explanation for today's drawing.

I've always wondered, is Kingler a portmonteau of "king" and "angler", or "king" and "Hitler"?

Travis Improves His Ranking

Travis Touchdown is in today's GameFAQs Character Battle poll, and is currently dead last. Normally I wouldn't care about such a thing, since a Nintendo or Square character always ends up winning these things, but Edgeworth just lost yesterday, and I can't take 2 of these in a row. He's down by about seven thousand votes, so you're all going to have to vote about 350 times each... you know what, never mind.

New ImPokédex - Drowzee

Which one of the Pokémon in today's entry could better adapt to cold weather? Drowzee is heftier and has a thick elephant-like skin, but Hypno has a thing of fur around his neck and a round stone that probably retains heat.

Some More Heroes

Travis strikes again! The announcement that there would be a sequel to No More Heroes seriously caught me off-guard. Today's drawing of the new assassin from the video, Pinkhair McLasertentacle (name pending). I can't wait to trek further towards the garden of madness.

Hard to believe that this is the first pencil drawing that I've uploaded to BTI. Looking at it again, it may be my last too.

This Week's Comic - Proto-negotiation

Remember in R/B/Y when ghost was the only type strong against psychic types, but the only ghost Pokémon (the ones in today's entry) were also poison types, which just happen to be weak to psychic? If you were a psychic or ground type in the first generation, the world beat a path to your door.

Von Kaiser Styling and Profiling

So now Punch-Out!! for Wii has been confirmed, and it seems to be a remake of the NES version, but with the point of view from Super Punch-Out!!. The other difference is that Von Kaiser, possibly learning a lesson from King Hippo, wears suspenders while boxing. All the better to give 'em ze uppercut with.
